Decks and retaining walls questions
Can you build a deck on a sloped yard?+
Yes. Our backyard deck project started with a timber retaining wall on a wooded slope before the deck was framed.
Wood or composite decking?+
Pressure treated wood costs less up front; composite costs more but needs little upkeep. We build with both.
Do decks need a permit in Michigan?+
Often yes, especially raised or attached decks. We can help you check with your township.
